  • Surkhanda Devi Temple: Surkhanda Devi temple is one of the 51 shakti peethas of India and Nepal. When lord Shiva was unconsciously roaming around the Indian and Nepali hills with his wife Sati’s dead body on his shoulder, Sati’s head fell at the place and later, Surkhanda Devi temple was established there. Surkhanda Devi Temple is among three devi temples- Surkhanda, Chandrabadani and Kunjapuri.
  • Chandrabadani Temple: Chandrabadani Temple is one among the holy triangle- Kunjapuri, Surkhanda Devi and Chandrabadani temples in Terhi Garhwal district of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand. Sati devi’s torso had fallen at the place when her husband lord Shiva was roaming unconsciously carrying Sati’s dead body on his arms after Sati drowned in the Agni (fire) kund being unable to tolerate the ill words of her father Dakshyaprajapati towards her husband lord Shiva.   • Kanatal: 13Km from Chamba on Chamba to Mussoorie road lie the queen of hills- Kanatal. Constructed in 2006, Tehri Dam has a reservoir for irrigation, municipal water supply and generation of 1,000 MW of hydroelectricity. 22Km from Tehri Dam is Koteshwar Dam, the gravity dam on Bhagirathi river completed in 2012.
  • Nag Tibba: Nag meaning serpent and Tibba meaning hill or peak, the name Nagtibba means Serpent’s peak. 57Km from Mussoorie Hill station in Dehradun district, Nag Tibba 3,022 meters above sea level is the highest peak in lesser Himalayan region. The name derives from the local belief of Nag Devata residing on the hill. Locals offer prayer to Nag Devata each year asking for the protection of their cattle.
